The management of IYFF “WE” has officially announced the start of application process

From now until November 24, the International Youth Film Festival “WE” is inviting submissions from both Russian and international authors for short films created after January 1, 2022, falling into two age categories: 12-17 and 18-35 years old.

The primary goals of the festival are as follows:

- To promote traditional spiritual and moral values among teenagers and young adults, including concepts such as life, dignity, patriotism, citizenship, high moral ideals, strong family bonds, creative labor, the prioritization of spiritual over material, humanism, justice, mutual assistance, and mutual respect.

- To showcase short films created by young regional filmmakers to a wide audience.

- To foster cultural exchange, mutual understanding among diverse peoples, and collaboration between filmmakers from various regions of Russia and friendly nations.

The winners will be recognized in the following nominations:

Best Feature Short Film

Best Documentary Short Film

Best Actor's Work

Best Cinematography

Hero of Our Time

Additionally, the out-of-competition program “We are together!” will welcome Russian and foreign documentaries focused on people with disabilities and/or films created with their direct involvement.

The organizers, drawing from the art of cinematography, its techniques, and creative potential, invite the younger generation of our nation to explore the lives and stories of ordinary people, whom they can take pride in. Participating in this film festival provides teenagers and young people with a unique opportunity to discover the heroes of our time, individuals whose lives are a source of inspiration and whose exceptional moral actions serve as guiding beacons.

The festival's jury, led by Natalia Syomina, Russian media manager, film producer, general director of the Moscow International Film Festival, academician of the Golden Eagle Film Academy, professor of the Academy of Cinematographic and Theatrical Art of N. S. Mikhalkov, professor of the Department of Film Art of the Moscow State Institute of Culture, will include well-known figures of the Russian and foreign film industry, alongside representatives from the cultural and public spheres.

The grand finale of the film festival, including the award ceremony, is scheduled for December 24, 2023, and will be broadcast live from the White Hall of the Central House of Cinematographers of Russia. Additionally, as part of the Echo of the Film Festival program, non-commercial screenings of the participating films will run from December 25, 2023 to April 25, 2024 not only in various regions of Russia but also at international venues.
